Why We Specialise in #SmallDogs Only 🐾

We are often asked why we do not accept larger breeds in our #groomingstudio. We’d like to explain this clearly, so everyone understands that this decision is about #safety, #wellbeing, and #quality of care — not preference or exclusion.

A @Calm, One-on-One Environment…

Small dogs can be groomed safely and comfortably within our space — large dogs cannot.

Occupational Health & Safety (OHS)…

#Handlinglargedogs involves heavy lifting, stronger restraint, and higher physical strain. Without specialised equipment (such as large hydraulic tables, reinforced baths, and hoists), grooming large breeds can lead to:

Back, shoulder, and wrist injuries

Increased risk of bites or accidents

Unsafe working conditions

OHS laws require us to operate within safe limits for both animals and staff.

Legal & Regulatory Requirements

Our business operates under:

Council animal management regulations

Body corporate rules for a residential building

Our registered business classification

These regulations limit the size of dogs we are to groom. Ignoring them would put our business, our staff, and our clients at risk.

Animal Welfare Comes First…

Large dogs groomed in a space not designed for them can feel cramped, rushed, and stressed. This increases anxiety and the chance of injury. We choose to say ā€œnoā€ because we believe every #dog deserves to be #groomed in an environment suited to their #size and needs and we don’t put profit or personal gain over integrity.

Quality Over Quantity…

By specialising in small dogs only, we can:

Provide #safer, gentler grooming

Maintain a quiet, low-stress environment

Focus on quality care rather than rushing appointments

This is why our policies are firm and non-negotiable.

In Summary

Saying no to large breeds is not personal — it is responsible.

It protects:

Your #dog

Our ability to continue providing high-quality #care

We truly appreciate the understanding and support of our community and our wonderful #small-dog clients.
